CATCHING KELCE

One day while lazily watching TV, I stumbled upon a show on E! (Entertainment Network) called ‘Catching Kelce’. Forgive me, but in my opinion that is one of the most useless shows on TV.

Basically the show is about an NFL player who is searching for love; so 50 ‘insecured’ ladies are battling it out in a competition for the guy’s heart. When I watched an episode, I was really angry, so it has come to this; that 50 precious ladies are competing amongst themselves as to who would be his girlfriend/fiancé/wife.

Honestly I do not belong to the School of thought that a woman should fight for a guy she loves, or rather prove to him that she’s the one for him. The man should be the one to prove to the lady beyond reasonable doubt, she should agree to his proposal. Afterall the bible says, He that findeth a wife.

It’s unfortunate that society has made relationship/marriage a form of validation, and you must do everything to be in one.

In a part of the episode when it got to the elimination part, you need to see the way the ladies were practically begging the guy not to send them home, that they were the better ones for him.

It’s so annoying the way the guy does with them, like he’s doing them a favour.

Anyway maybe I shouldn’t be so surprised, after all the bible says, In that day seven women will take hold of one man and say, “We will eat our own food and provide our own clothes; only let us be called by your name. Take away our disgrace!” Isaiah 4:1 (NIV)

Do not be ashamed of your single state, or be depressed about it; rather use it as a period to develop and improve yourself; while waiting for the one the Lord would bring your way.

I always say it, that the day ladies begin to place value on themselves; that’s the day abuse in all its forms and shapes would stop.

It’s a low self-esteem and a form of insecurity when you beg; manipulate a man to be with you. No one is doing you a favour by being with you. You’re worthy of love, and respect and you should be treated with the utmost care.
