WHEN LOVE HAPPENS AGAIN

That’s the title of the movie I & my friend P saw yesterday. Truth is that’s not the movie we wanted to see, we initially wanted to see 93 days; only for us to get there and we were told the movie wasn’t showing. I was so angry eh, it pained we both seriously.

Since we were already there nah, we decided to see another movie. We thought of Queen of Katwe and When Love Happens Again. I was like I would prefer to see WLHA, I had seen the first part of the movie and I enjoyed it, so I was like I’d would like to see the second part (even though they substituted Gideon Okeke with someone else). I really like Gideon Okeke(Tobe) in the first part and he and Werucia (Mo) had great chemistry.

Anyway that’s how we ended up seeing WLHA, and I don’t regret it at all. Basically what I look for when going to the cinema is to have fun and WLHA did it for me. That movie just point out some salient truths about relationships, having lasting relationships and peace of mind.

Imagine travelling all the way to the US from Nigeria on a first class ticket, just to know whether your GF is cheating, imagine such creepiness. That’s what lack of trust and listening to hearsays can do to you. I was really marveled how someone in a relationship can think their other half would change simply because they weren’t in the same location.

To have peace of mind in a relationship, don’t assume, don’t listen to hearsays, always confirm from your partner, what you think and your fears, moreover the role of trust cannot be overemphasized.

Honestly if I were Mo, I wouldn’t forgive Tobe that easily, how can you say you love me and you don’t trust me, abeg shift. Anyway in the end love wins.

This post is not even about the movie, it’s about the galleria (silver bird Zone 4 Abuja). Firstly, when I & my friend P arrived at the cinema stand to purchase our tickets, we were shocked to discover that 93days wasn’t showing, yet it was displayed as SHOWING NOW. Another thing was, the place was so scanty, (P was like maybe it’s the recession). I was really surprised. I remember when that cinema would be so jam-packed, like movies were going of fashion.

Then unlike before, there were no varieties of ice cream, just one flavor; even the flavor looked dirty and unappealing. There was absolutely nothing in their show glasses just empty cartons (I wanted buying chocolate). I was like why display things you don’t have, the staff there said; they’re all empty.

The popcorn was too sugary and the sugar wasn’t well mixed. The toilet cubicle doors were all bad, so no privacy. Some toilets do not even have water, not to talk of tissue. A lot of the escalators weren’t working. Could it be the recession? But honestly, the state of that place needs urgent attention; it’s falling apart. I’m taking it personal because that’s one place I used to love to visit, but mehn what I saw yesterday I was shocked.

Another thing I noticed was, the cinema hall was empty; we were very few that saw the movie; could it be that Nigerians do not watch nollywood movies at the cinema or Abuja people are boring, or is it the recession? Abeg lets patronize nollywood so the industry can move forward.

Back to the movie, the movie started making me feel things. You know na, how love movies makes you start feeling things, you never knew where there before.
You see eh, I’m a diehard romantic; I love love. Watching the movie reminded me what it feels like to be in love (looooool).

Anyway that it’s for today. Don’t forget to be good, be kind and loving.
God bless you.
