One thing I didn’t let you guys in on is the fact that I’m a baker. I love to bake. I got it from my mum, my mum bakes amazing cakes. I never in my wildest imagination ever thought I’d want to bake for a living, but the type of joy I get when I bake is immeasurable. One day I’d love to go into baking full time. So this public holiday I used the opportunity to bake one of my all time favourites, a Chocolate Cake.
What are the items you need?

  • Flour 500g

  • Sugar 400g (depending on how sweet you want the cake to be)

  • Butter 500g

  • Baking powder 1 spoon

  • 7 Eggs

  • Chocolate

  • Cocoa powder

  • Milk
Total Preparation time: 30mins

In a bowl, put all the dry ingredients together ie the milk, baking powder, flour, cocoa powder and the chocolate. Set aside.

Cocoa Powder

Baking powder

Mixture of flour, baking powder, and chocolate

Add the milk

When you mix the dry ingredients, this is what you get
Place the butter, sugar and 1 egg in another bowl and mix it till it’s white.

It should like this

When that’s done, put on the oven, I do this in advance so the oven can hot enough for the cake. If you put the oven on in advance, it’ll take the cake lesser time to bake.

Pour the butter mixture into the dry ingredients and mix. Add the egg one at a time.

Butter in the dry ingredients mixture
Do not over mix, lest the cake will be very hard when baked. I like fluffy soft cakes.
Pour the mixture into a pan. (I use oil to grease the pan, some use butter, this is done so when the cake is baked, it’ll be easy for you to remove the cake from the pan).

It should like this
Insert a toothpick into the cake once it comes out dry, your cake is baked.
Remove from pan and Enjoy.
Here’s from me to you with love.

I believe this procedure is simple enough to try this holiday.

I love to hear from you, kindly drop a comment. Have a lovely day.
